Oak Project
Oak Project is a hand-woven knitwear collection inspired by the oak forests of the Zagros mountains in Iran. Each cape is knitted entirely by hand with two knitting needles, without industrial machines. One cape takes about 100 to 120 hours to complete. Natural wool and cotton are used, so the garments are durable and safe for the environment. The motifs are first drawn freehand, then prepared as carpet patterns, so the knitting follows the method of a hand-woven carpet. Sizes are woven to order using standard clothing measurements.
Oak Project Handmade Fashion by LILI DCHI was featured as a creative representation of fashion design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Oak Project Handmade Fashion earned the Iron A' Design Award in Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design in 2022. The A' Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that rewards excellent design of runway collections, dresses, suits, skirts, outerwear, jackets, apparel, garments and more.
